Neuroma'sNeuroma's
are a benign enlargement of a nerve. They can affect any nerve in the
body. It is sometimes refereed to as a pinched nerve. The most common
in the foot is Morton's neuroma. Morton's neuroma is not actually
a tumor - it is really a thickening of the tissue surrounding nerve
leading to the toes. Morton's Neuroma is a common foot problem associated with pain, swelling the nerve, at the ball-of-the-foot between the 3rd and 4th toes. Symptoms of this condition include sharp pain, burning, and even a lack of feeling in the affected area. The neuroma can also cause numbness or tingling in the forefoot.
